Hi Roommates,
Just a quick post to encourage you to pray for the people of Ecuador this week.
A 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit the coastal South-American nation on Saturday night. You can read about it here.
If you don’t know what to pray, here is a short pray you might like to use. I have based it on James 3:13-18, which we will be reflecting on this Sunday.
Loving God,
Today we mourn the disorder and chaos that has befallen Ecuador.
We pray for your heavenly wisdom to speak into this disaster —
not a wisdom that offers cheap explanation,
or empty consolation,
but wisdom that is pure,
peace-loving,
and full of mercy.May the people of Ecuador be comforted and consoled.
May peace be sown among the disorder and the chaos.
May love and mercy be poured out in abundance.
And may the nation’s leaders make wise decisions.Help us to hear your words of peace-making wisdom.
And by your Spirit, unite us with the people of Ecuador at this time.We pray this in the name of Jesus,
who speaks wisdom into disorder,
and peace into chaos.Amen.
