The purpose of this small group discussion is to encourage your group to think about how they are currently serving and how they might serve in new ways.

Opening discussion: Brainstorm together examples of leaders in our society today. Try and get some good and bad examples. What makes someone a good leader?

Read Mark 10:35-45.

James and John are seeking glory. What does a glory-seeking faith look like?

On Sunday, Abi shared about her inflated ego when she gets complimented about her worship leading. Share ways that you have sought or continue to seek glory.

Jesus flips ideas of success, leadership, and glory on its head. Read verse 45 again. What do you think this means for following Jesus?

Get practical. What does it mean for you personally, or for the church community, to exercise this sort of leadership?

How have you displayed this in your journey so far? What are some ways you could serve others? (For example, sign up to prepare supper one night at the Living Room!)
