I sort of feel like the first blog post needs to be something special, maybe contain some mind-blowing revelation, or make you furrow your brow or stroke your imaginary beard in deep thought.

None of that. I’m going to thoroughly fail to live up to expectations… my theory is that, if I start small, future blog posts will only get better.

Anyway, welcome, kia ora, hi, herzlich willkommen. This is the Living Room blog page — which corresponds to the Living Room faith community. Here you can find information like what bible readings are coming up next Sunday, what we’ll be praying for in our intercession, interesting articles, upcoming events, musings and other such jottings.

This coming Sunday we’ll be reading Jeremiah 1:4-10. It tells the story of Jeremiah’s call to being a prophet. Give it a read beforehand if you have time. What imagery or words stand out to you? Pray through it, mull it over.

We’ll be spending time recognising our own call to serve God and there’ll be a chance to respond. Consequently, our intercession this Sunday will be for the people in our communities who we are called to serve in the most immediate sense. How present have you been in your suburb lately? What or who have you noticed? How has God been present? Where have you missed God because you’ve been too busy or distracted?

…perhaps you’ve been distracted writing blog posts or something! Speaking of which, time to wrap this up and enjoy the sun.
